San Francisco Psychedelic Society and The Chacruna Institute for Psychedelic Plant Medicines are partnering up to create a cutting-edge series to infuse deep psychedelic knowledge on sacred plants, music, integration, culture and policy into our growing, local community.
We are excited to announce the third event of the series will feature a talk by Kendra Birdsall, the Integration Specialist for Soltara Healing Center speaking about Empowering the Individual: A Focus on Self-Driven Integration
Working with ayahuasca can be an incredibly challenging undertaking that has the potential to profoundly impact the lives of those who seek healing with this Amazonian plant medicine. Following work with the medicine comes the further challenge of integrating these experiences into everyday life. Integration of the ayahuasca experience is an incredibly personal process and as such, creating an integration plan should also be highly personalized. This talk will present an approach to integration that is focused on empowering the individual. It will cover the importance of managing expectations, encouraging approachable and simplified practices, and ultimately placing integration tools into the hands of the individual through self-driven resources. An example of such a resource, “The Hero’s Journal: An Integration Workbook” will be presented. This talk challenges us to prioritize integration programs that empower the person working with the medicine to direct their own healing. The tools presented in this talk are informed by experiences with the plant medicine ayahuasca but can also be applied to psychedelic integration on a wider scale.
Kendra will lead a breakout session including a Q & A period to reflect and dive deep into the thought provoking material in the talk. We will also have breakout groups with topics like psychedelics 101 for newcomers. The purpose of this gathering is to facilitate connection and community amongst folks in the SF bay area who are interested in psychedelics. Chacruna will have a table, we will serve cacao, provide healthy snacks and a raffle.
We will begin around 7 PM, please arrive by 6:40 so that we can start on time. We are located on the second floor. When you arrive, please sign in at the door. We are asking a $5-$20 donation to the society, no one turned away for lack of funds.
San Francisco Psychedelic Society is evolving to have more frequent and diverse events in the Bay Area. We are looking forward to having you at our community meeting to get involved and meet others!
