We are excited to announce a new donation-based (info below) OCD and Psychedelics Support Network (OPSN). We are a group of peers that believe that psychedelics and/or plant medicine can aid us in managing our OCD. Many people are experiencing relief from symptoms with Psychedelics for the treatment of mental health.

We gather monthly to support one another to effectively understand and integrate these life-changing tools into our lives. Our intention is to create a safe space to discuss the intersection of OCD and Psychedelics, while meeting others on a similar path in a supportive community. Although far from a cure, these substances can potentially help aid symptoms and provide an alternative perspective.

Members of OPSN have either already experienced the transformative capacity of psychedelics, and are currently using them to heal, or are interested in learning what role they may play in their journey with OCD.

Wherever you are on your journey, we welcome you to this network with open arms. This is a sober, anonymous meeting and safe space.

We will start with a sound meditation, followed by a sharing circle and conscious discussion. This group focuses on using psychedelics for the treatment of OCD. We welcome those with experience using these medicines and newcomers alike.

We welcome our group facilitator, Adam Strauss.

Facilitator Bios:
Adam Strauss is a writer and performer based in New York. His monologue The Mushroom Cure is the true story of how he treated his debilitating obsessive-compulsive disorder with psychedelics. The New York Times said it “mines a great deal of laughter from disabling pain,” The Chicago Tribune called it “arrestingly honest and howlingly funny” and Time Out New York called it “riveting; a true-life tour de force” and named it a Critics’ Pick.

BeQui Frankel lives in the Bay Area, and for the past few years she has been volunteering with the San Francisco Psychedelic Society. BeQui has been enduring the pain and anxiety of OCD for as long as she can remember. It wasn’t until she moved to California in 2015 that she began discovering the potential therapeutic uses and effects that psychedelics can have on this disorder. In January 2018, she participated in a clinical trial at Stanford University where they studied the effects of Ketamine infusions on patients with OCD. BeQui is dedicated to continuously discovering new methods and medications for managing the psychological challenges she experiences on a daily basis, and she is excited to begin building a Network through SFPS of other people that deal with this disorder.
