We are warmly welcoming you to Become a Founding Family Member of the San Francisco Psychedelic Society! We host our Community Campfire Members Meetings on the third Thursday of every month at 6 PM Pacific on Zoom. Join us in a community-oriented atmosphere where we will update you on the latest psychedelic society happenings, discuss some of the latest news in psychedelic culture and provide an opportunity to get to know our team and other society members.
This month, enter into a Portal to the Sacred Garden with us. We are thrilled to have Clive Worsley and Bob Otis joining us at this month’s Community Campfire!
In this members event Clive will discuss the opening of a brand new Portal Community Center offering in Berkeley, California. This new Community Center’s mission is to make space available, free of charge, to organizations that support and work in the plant medicine space. That work can include; spiritual and/or religious/ceremonial approaches, science and research, policy and advocacy work, and clinical/therapeutic work. We will hear Clive talk about the inspiration behind the community center, what it is currently being used for, his deeply inspiring vision for the center and how people can get involved in supporting that vision.
Along with Clive Worsley we will have Bob Otis join us for the campfire. Bob works in partnership with Clive at The Portal Community Center and will further elaborate on deeply important topics such as education around SB-519, MIMOSA, and the need for uplifting diverse healing communities. Bob will bring us insight on the new community center, state legislation and outline a call to action for members that want to continue being involved. See you all on August 19th at 6pm PST at the campfire.
The door of discussion is opening for intentional community-centered practice by the founder of Sacred Garden Community, Bob Otis, who will speak about mutual support towards alignment, harmony and learning together.
Clive Worsley (he/him) is the Director of Operations at the newly opened Portal Community Center in Berkeley CA. Clive spent the past 30 years in nonprofit leadership in the local performing arts and arts education spaces, engaging and empowering BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ youth from all over the Bay Area. He comes to work in the plant medicine space through decades of personal and spiritual community engagements with sacred medicines and through his association as the Sustainability Steward for the Sacred Garden Community. Dedicated to helping to create pathways to illuminating and healing experiences for those who have historically faced barriers to inclusion, his hope is that the Center will provide space for education and healing across cultural, racial, gender and identity, and religious divides.
Bob Otis has over 35 years of engagement with family, traditional and Western teachers guide Bob’s work with entheogenic Sacraments. Bob holds a Master’s in Divinity (University Chicago) and is a Pastor for Sacred Garden Community. He was founding Chairperson for Decriminalize Nature Oakland, is a co-founder of Chacruna’s Sacred Plant Alliance, and is Chief Sacrament Officer for Mimosa, a Public Benefit Corporation.
