We are proud to introduce the San Francisco Psychedelic Society’s newest offering, the Psychedelic Death Cafe. The Death Cafe is a safe place to openly discuss our thoughts and feelings about death, dying, and mortality in a supportive environment. Death affects us all, but discomfort with the subject and social norms make it difficult to explore this important topic in a comfortable and respectful community context. We also welcome discussion about the use of psychedelics as a way to explore the nature of life and death (and beyond) or use of psychedelics at the end-of-life.

Facilitated by David Anand & Amanda Rodrigo
Facilitator bios:
David Anand is an INELDA trained End of Life Doula, hospice volunteer, and former EMT who is dedicated to supporting dignified, positive, and joyous experiences to those facing the end of their lives as well as their loved ones. He brings substantial experience offering support and harm reduction to those seeking to explore matters of consciousness, self, and mortality through sacred and intentional experiences with psychedelics. David’s approach to death is guided by Buddhism and non-duality with an aim towards bringing a loving approach to the topic of death and dying.
Amanda Rodrigo has been a leader in the Behavioral Health Field of Nursing for over a decade. She offers this experience along with training in Suicide Prevention, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Introduction to Psychedelic Therapy to assist in the development of a safe space for anyone to come and speak openly and without judgement. Amanda believes open communication is the most effective form of harm reduction. Amanda’s personal past experience as a mother to a suicidal teenager fuels her desire to connect with others looking to explore and discuss the topic of death and dying in a productive healing way.
